Paper Training a Puppy: Doing his Thing

If you can teach your little puppy with complex and complicated commands, it is never impossible that he can also grasp and understand a simple command such as paper training. Paper training a puppy is one of the requisites of house training. If you are aiming to develop your puppy to a fully house trained dog then you should begin your training sessions the moment he reaches five weeks old, all depending on the level of performance and ability your puppy is manifesting.

Submissive urination is a common problem of puppies specifically if they get overenthusiastic, fussy and at times stressed. To steer clear of this behavior, you need to avoid stressing him and avoid being very fulsome and demonstrative when greeting him. This way, your puppy will not adopt this kind of behavior when he gets to his adult age.

Paper training a puppy to urinate and relieve his ‘thing’ can be done through newspapers or pads. Keep in mind, the moment you decide on introducing your puppy to paper training, a firm decision that this is what you want your puppy to learn to potty weigh against the idea of eliminating outdoors is ascertained. Once decided, you can begin by positioning the pads or newspapers to a specific spot where your puppy will have an easier time to locate it.
Paper training a puppy involves a step by step process. Do not force your puppy to learn everything you taught all at the same time. Remember, you need to begin with simple techniques enough for your puppy’s age to comprehend.

Leash Training your Dog for a Cause

Despite of its tediousness, leash training you dog has a lot of benefits. A leash trained dog won’t drag you halfway across the city when he wants to go anywhere. A dog that’s been leash trained is at a lesser risk of getting lost, or chasing someone at a park, or an alley. Dogs are pack animals, and aside from keeping your pet right beside you, it’s also a very strong message that reminds him who leads the team.
Jump start
The most difficult thing in leash training your dog is in making him get used to the collar. If someone that thick was hanging over your neck, you’ll probably be annoyed too. You should begin leash training your dog as early as the first few weeks of his existence—and no, we don’t mean putting him on a collar and tying him to a post. A pup’s neck is very fragile, and all the pulling can seriously injure him.
While he’s still a pup, introduce the idea of the collar to him already. You can start by tying a string of yarn to his neck when he’s very young, and replacing the material with safer, thicker practice-collars as he gets older. When he’s old enough to recognize the collar, try to make him perceive it as a reward. Hopefully, by this time, he’d be too used to the idea of the thing around his neck to scratch or try to chew it if ever he manages to get it off.
Getting the concept straight
A really common mistake made by pet owners is seeing the leash and the collar as primarily restraining tools. This is not the case, because leash training your dog the proper way should make you be able to control your dog with or without the leash. When done correctly, leash training your dog should be able to help you teach your dog to move with you as closely as a shadow when you’re in public places.

Find the Right Training

Taking care of a puppy, especially when it is reaching its fourth to fifth month, may be a difficult task for dog owners who have no idea what to do or how to discipline their canine friends. Dog owners who are just starting with their puppy training may want to check out puppy training books, which are being sold either in bookstores or online puppy training websites for those who seek help, tips, and advice on different issues, problems, and topics about raising puppies. Many dog trainers and owners have a lot to offer when it comes to taking care of puppies, so getting puppy training books would be very good sources of help.

This is one of the major tasks of the dog owner, so it is very important that you know the proper techniques and skills on how to train your puppy to be disciplined, obedient and well-behaved.

If you buy one or more puppy training books, you won’t have to feel lost or worry about improperly training your canine friend at all. These books have great advice and tips that can help you train and discipline a mischievous and disobedient pup

Tips - Puppy Training Books

Finding the proper puppy training books can be an up hill battle if you don’t know what you’re looking for. After going through the process a few times, and reading several books I have discovered a few tips that really help you choose the right book.

The First thing to look for in puppy training books, is a good outline, starting from basic training and working into more advanced methods. I have bought my share of advanced books, and if you don’t know the basics you can’t move on to the advanced.

Second is good visualization. A book with lots of pictures illustrating what the writer is describing is worth a 1000 words. It also makes what seems to you at the time as a difficult strategy, simple and understandable. A real bonus is if they offer videos as well. The writer can really get his point a crossed in video format.

Lastly, I like to look at the testimonial. It comforts me to know that I am not the only one trying to train my puppy. Good Testimonial can really set your mind as easy.

So remember when searching for puppy training books, to look for some of these key factors and it will help you pick the right book for you. Good luck with your puppy training.
